What is Asperger Syndrome?

in

Asperger Syndrome (AS) is a social communication disorder affecting key aspects of social understanding, language usage and sensory integration. Typically first observed in early childhood, symptoms of this disposition include autistic-like preoccupations with factual information and special interests, a preference for seeking knowledge over socializing and general awkwardness in engaging with others comfortably. Those with AS usually have a good vocabulary and above average intelligence. However, they still may feel lost in the subtleties of everyday social interactions.
